A Day in a Tree, a Chance to be Free... NOV. '07

A Day in a Tree, a Chance to be Free...

Here again I sit, up a tree 20 feet,
My autumn-time sanity in a camouflaged seat.

I should be calling or glassing or searching for deer,
But with wind and high temperatures there aren't any near.

So I'm left to ponder as geese fly overhead,
The latest "plotter" changes we've made instead.

Hmmmm... where to start, more words I will need,
Oh, we've added a kit and two types of seed.

It appears not all humans want fertilizer and lime,
We kept hearing "more seed!" time after time.

And with this seed there are two new kinds,
Now cow peas and rape will ease your minds.

Wait... there's a noise... coming up from behind,
A deer... a buck perhaps? No... a porcupine.

They're cute little sorts, not too many around,
Yet here comes this one with its nose to the ground.

Hey... get out of the scent "bomb"!  Stop chewin' the wick!
You're a porcupine, buddy, go eat a stick!

You're wreckin' my setup, and I'm tryin' to write,
To finish this column by tomorrow night!

So anyway, readers, of new photos we've lots,
Of deer and of wildlife in our beautiful food plots.

Soon these pictures with the latest seed news,
Will be here on this sight for you to use.

To hunters good luck, to others God bless,
Hope your autumn is colorful with minimal stress!
